About Budi

Budi has twenty years of experience working with horses including breeding, training, and competing.  Budi started training horses in Indonesia over 20 years ago and has been an active member of the Federation Equestrian International (FEI) in Indonesia to help build the sport in Asia.  Now in the US, Budi is operating in the DC metro area training horses and providing riding instruction in jumping and dressage.

An early passion for horses became a life time commitment and career for Budi.  Building on his practical experience, Budi studied horse management at the New South Wales Equestrian Center and gained additional working experience in Australia.  In 1994, Budi worked in the Netherlands with Peter Berkers training and selling top quality sport horses.

For the past decade, Budi has been building his career training, consulting, organizing local competitions and competing at the international level.  While his specialty is show jumping, Budi is also a skilled competitor and trainer for dressage and the three-day event. 

Budi has been breeding horses since the early 90s, focusing on improving the quality of the sport horse.  Initially focused on importing brood mares and studs from Europe, Budi assisted a breeding expert to introduce artificial insemination in Indonesia.  Budi managed the breeding program at a large, private facility for eight years.  During this time, Budi was also responsible for handling horses for export and import.
